Red wine – 1999 – Poggiopiano Rosso di Sera – Italy – Region: Toscane – Apellation: Toscane – Sangiovese blend – 750 ml.
1999 Poggiopiano Rosso di Sera
Tasting Note:
The stunning 1999 Rosso di Sera is an unfiltered blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Colorino aged 12 months in French oak of which 50% was new. A serious opaque purple-colored backward effort it exhibits superb purity as well as copious quantities of black fruits intermixed with spice box tobacco and leather. Full-bodied powerful and structured it is meant for serious cellaring. While promising it is not yet ready for prime time drinking. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2018.
