Tasting Note:

I obviously underestimated the awesome 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes last year when I gave it an estimated rating of (90-93). Its saturated plum/purple color is followed by aromas of incense spring flowers blueberries boysenberries kirsch licorice and smoked meats. Seriously packed and stacked this full-bodied wine possesses splendid concentration superb purity and a finish that lasts nearly a full minute. This is indeed a _wow_ Chateauneuf du Pape that is approachable now (because of the wonderful sweetness of the fruit and aromatic intensity) and should age beautifully for two decades.
